To say that dogs are territorial creatures is an understatement. These canine critters like to establish boundaries and assert their authority, especially when there are new pups around. It’s interesting how things pan out, from “who are you” to “I think you’re fun to be with,” and eventually, “let’s be friends forever!”
The owners of Harlow the Weimaraner and Indiana, the Dachshund, witnessed this when they brought home a Dachshund puppy named Reese. Harlow’s owners brought home Indiana when Sage, his best friend, crossed the rainbow bridge. It was tough on him, and although he had mixed feelings at first, he eventually became close friends with Indiana.
Along came Reese
Reese’s arrival required some adjustment for the two. Harlow and Indiana were already so used to having each other around that they didn’t know how to react when they were introduced to Reese. It took them a few days to adjust, but they eventually welcomed the pup to their “group.”
As days passed, the relationship between the three dogs grew deeper. They would eat, hang out, and take baths together. The older dogs also learned to keep up with Reese’s energy – he would always ask Harlow and Indiana to play with him.
From duo to trio
Harlow and Indiana have long been famous online for being the adorable duo that they are. They have over a million followers on their Instagram account. Companies that manufacture food and other products for pets have also taken notice of their popularity online and hired them as brand ambassadors.
Now that the duo has evolved into a trio, they’ve leveled up to a whole new level of Internet stardom. As of writing, they have over 250,000 followers on Facebook, and they have a book available on Amazon. When they’re not too busy winning hearts from the world all over, you’ll find these three doing their favorite activity: snuggling together.
