There are countless great dog owners out there. These are people who provide the best life for their pets. Sometimes life happens, and tragedies occur. What happens to the pets when such tragedies strike?
Little P and Tonka are pit bulls who have lived together for most of their life. They were owned by an amazing man who loved them so much. However, something terrible happened to their owner.
The dogs’ owner is an active outdoors type of guy. During the start of the pandemic, he and a friend decided to go hiking with his dogs. They only packed food and water good for a day, but they got lost for a few more days.
While in search of water, the owner found a creek below a canyon. He took the dogs with him to climb down. Unfortunately, they lost their footing and fell. The owner died on impact while the dogs were badly injured.
The dogs never left the man’s side until the police had arrived. The dogs were taken to a municipal shelter. Tonka had a broken leg, but due to a fast response from a vet, he got treated immediately.
While Tonka was recovering, Little P had to be separated from him. Little P likes to be physical when playing. That’s why he needed to stay somewhere else while Tonka was healing.
The late owner’s cousin fostered little P. Eventually, the two dogs met again, and they were up adoption. The rescue organization in charge of the dogs want them to get adopted in the same home.
Rescuers rarely rescue dogs who’ve had a good life. That’s why they want to honor the memory of the previous owner by ensuring they get the same type of life once more. Little P and Tonka have traveled together and seen the world. They need a new owner who will give them the same experience.
